Rhoades family diary, 1834 - 1856, bulk: 1845 - 1853
Scope and Contents
Volume begins with statement dated March 3, 1853, by William Rhoades, giving land to his children, J.W., G.M., B.A., C.F., B.T., and F. Christian (husband of Anzalette), with a description of the plots each will receive. Includes notes about his wife Betsy's land, and how it will be distributed at her death. Ledger pages begin in 1834 and appear to record purchases and other transactions. Diary of days is interspersed with ledger notes. Note dated January 1856, on fourth to last pages of volume, describes promissory notes given to Betsey Anzalette Rhoades and Fanny Christina Rhoades.
