  • Club minutes (Box 1) are closed to research except by current Fortnightly Club members and those who receive permission from the Club Historian.

    Historical Note

    The Fortnightly Club was founded in 1894 as a woman’s literary society to give women an outlet for their intellectual endeavors. It is one of many formed all over the country at a time when few women worked outside the home. Members have the opportunity each year to research and present a short paper on a general theme chosen by the membership.
