Historical Note
The Fortnightly Club was founded in 1894 as a woman’s literary society to give women an outlet for their intellectual endeavors. It is one of many formed all over the country at a time when few women worked outside the home. Members have the opportunity each year to research and present a short paper on a general theme chosen by the membership.
