This collection contains newspaper clippings of Ernest Hamlin Baker cartoons, drawings, correspondence, and photographs. It mostly dates from the 1910s, but material from as late as the 1950s is also included.

Biographical note
Ernest Hamlin Baker was born on May 5, 1889 and died on November 17, 1975. He graduated from Colgate University in 1912. While at Colgate, he ran track, worked for the Salmagundi student yearbook, and sold caricatures to pay for his education. After graduating he became a well-known artist, most famous for the many cover paintings he created for Time magazine and his work with The New Yorker. After his graduation, he continued to create drawings for Colgate student publications and broadsides.
