Historical note

The All-University Council held its first meeting in October 1959. It aimed to undertake "a comprehensive review which hopefully would lead to recommendations regarding the aims, policies and ambitions regarding the Colgate of the future." The council consisted of three representatives each of trustees, alumni, faculty, administrators, and students. It divided its focus among three areas: The Faculty and the Educational Program, The Student Body and Undergraduate Life, and The Administration and Financial Affairs.
