This collection contains a diary that covers part of Brownson's time as a student at Hamilton Literary and Theological Seminary. The diary contains descriptions of abolitionist meetings in Peterboro, N.Y. attended by Gerrit Smith. The collection also includes essays, poems, and notes on Christian theology written over the course of Isaac Brownson's life.

This is an artificial collection containing documents created by seven of the thirteen founders of Hamilton Literary and Theological Institution (later Colgate University). It includes correspondence, deeds, Robert Powell's autobiography, and Elisha Payne's will. Also included is a letter from Orrin B. Judd, an 1841 graduate of the institution.

The Peter E. McGuire and Joseph L. Kelly papers contain diaries and letters written by Peter McGuire and his brother-in-law Joseph Kelly. The letters are addressed to family members and date from during and after the Civil War. Also included are official military papers, a photograph of Joseph Kelly, a veteran's reunion booklet, and Kelly's obituary.

Scope and Contents Volume begins with statement dated March 3, 1853, by William Rhoades, giving land to his children, J.W., G.M., B.A., C.F., B.T., and F. Christian (husband of Anzalette), with a description of the plots each will receive. Includes notes about his wife Betsy's land, and how it will be distributed at her death.
